Patchpaw The mid-day sun hund over the camp like a grave, casting almost unbarable heat onto the camp. Had things been like this all green-leaf? No, she didn't think so. So how did the clan get thrown from the freezer and into the frying pan? The day before had been chilly-so why was that day so hot In fact, few warriors strayed from their dens, even just to cross the clearing. But that had only made things worse. The body heat of the apprentices had become unbearable to a certain tortoiseshell she-cat. And so, there Patchpaw was, shifting uncomfortably in the heat, nibbling on her scrawny mouse that she had caught earlier that day.
"It's so hot..." Patchpaw muttered. "It's so hot... It's so hot, I'm... shedding like a fox..." The tortoiseshell thought about the comment, which honestly made no sense whatsoever, but she didn't mind. And, as per usual, she let out a giigle. Then another. And this went on until she was having a laughing fit. When she felt the stares of the other cats in the clearing burn into her pelt, she hung her head in shame, and fell silent.
'What's their problem?' she asked silently, pouting a bit. Well, she had to admit, it was a little weird that she started laughing like a crazy person at something so small and not funny at all, but still...
Patchpaw stared at the Apprentices' Den. How cool, how comfortable it looked. But the fact that it was even more unbearable to sit in came crashing down on her and the she-cat couldn't help but slump over her half eaten mouse. Running, as enjoying as it was, wouldn't help one bit-it would only make it worse. Perhaps she could take a short swim in the Rush River. No... She was a terrible swimmer.
"Maybe I can get Brindlefrost to take me out on a hunting patrol or something. Anything to get my mind off the heat..."

Brushfire was outside the Nursery, streching. She seemed to be complaining about the heat of the day too, half-hissing as her paw took another step on the ground which felt like it was burning. She had left her kits to Shadowpaw, as he was letting her have a bit of freetime from them. Brushfire soon noticed Patchpaw and skipped over, still hissing with each step. "Hey Patchpaw..." her ears were layed back. "Wanna go hunting or something? Anything? ...Please?"

Patchpaw At the sight of movement in the corner of her eye, Patchpaw swung her head to look at who was padding towards her. A light and dark brown she-cat. The apprentice sprang to her paws, hopeing she wasn't in trouble. Maybe sitting outside and making a rucus wasn't the best idea, but it was certainly the only one she had at the moment... She just hoped the older she-cat understood that. As the newcomer made their way across the camp, her ears picked up the sound of faint hisses with every step.
It was a little odd, seeing them skip like they were cheery, only to let out a hiss whenever their paws collided with the ground. The she-cat would have at least let out a giggle had it been an ordinary day, but she kept her yap shut. If she was in trouble, she didn't want to get into anymore..."G-good morning, Brushfire!" she called stiffly, hoping the queen didn't notice her... almost shaking. Almost.
"Uh... how are your kits?" the tortoiseshell asked, recalling that Brushfire's kits had been born not long before. "What are their names? What do they look like? You know, when I was a kit the elder always talked about how important cats were when they were kits and how silly they looked. Hm... I wonder if I was like that... Probably not, but I sure hope Spottedpaw was. I wonder what Spottedpaw is doing right now? You know what-I don't even care. Do you know how weird owls are? They turn their heads so weirdly, they can turn all the wayt around. I wouldn't want to be behind an owl when it was turning it's head around.
"Do you know that mice are my favorite food? Other people think it's bland, but I like it a lot. The way it taste when it touched my tongue... so good... You know, sharing tongues is kind of a weird subject. I mean, you have people having their... mouth water all over your back. I mean, if I want any slobber on my pelt, I want it to be mine and mine alone. And when mates twin tails, it's also kinda weird. What if they got all tangled and then they'd have to walked by each other together until the medicine cat could pry their tails apart. That would be gross," she rambled, not bothering to let the other she-cat say anything.
When Brushfire spoke up again, Patchpaw's ear pricked. "Hunting? But your kits... Are you sure you want to leave them alone?"

(Pfff. Talkative, isn't she?)
Brushfire giggled, took a deep breath, and replied:
"Good morning Patchpaw. My kits are having a wonderful day... in the cool Nursery with Shadowpaw. Their names? Grasskit, Oskarkit, and Hawk-kit, and Oskarkit's blind. Poor young fellow. Oskarkit and Grasskit are both blue-grey, but Oskarkit is darker. Hawk-kit is just simpley lovely, dark brown and tabby-ish. That's acually an interesting story because where I come from," she paused to giggle, "which is LeafClan, cats seemed to always remain kittish and we were always so happy until the Clan burnt to the ground. And I'm pretty sure you are like that dear Patchpaw, if you weren't so jumpy." She paused to remember any other things that the apprentice had said, then smild and continued, "Spottedpaw is probably training right now, probably. And neither do I, owl are scaryer than two-legs. Mice, huh? I prefer chickens. Oh, that was the most delicious thing ever, and they roamed around the LeafClan territory. Too bad there airn't any chickens around here. Sharing tongues? Yeah, not my subject. And the intertwaining of tails? Probably never going to gt tangled up like that Patchpaw," she stopped and giggled, swiching her tail happily.
"Oh, and, my kits? Like I said, they're with Shadowpaw, they'll be fine. He wanted to give me some freedom, and the fact that he likes kits. As said before, wanna go hunting? It sounds delightful to me."

( F*** yeah. Spottedpaw time. Like a boss. If you guys want me to leave I can delete this post xD. And I'mma copy you with making the talking a different color. Please don't eat me for it!!)
Spottedpaw walked into camp with Echosong, who quickly dismissed her and went about her own deputy duties. (Sorry I needed someone to be with her or that would be weird if she was walking around by herself o3o..) She stretched briefly and then walked over to the fresh-kill pile, where she heard her sister Patchpaw and Brushfire talking. She dipped her head respectfully to Brushfire in greeting. '' Hello, Brushfire, I hope your kits are doing well. '' She meowed politely, not bothering to greet her sister. '' Were you two talking about going hunting? Would you mind if I tagged along? I just went on a border patrol but I wouldn't feel right about taking from the fresh-kill pile before providing for it first. '' Spottedpaw smiled at Patchpaw, '' And I'm sure you aren't too keen to listen to Patchpaw's ramblings by yourself after having to hear your kits mewl all through the night. '' She meowed, flicking her sister gently with her tail tip.

Brushfire nodded. "It is okay with me, But I'm not sure of Patchpaw." The she-cat turned to the tortishell apprentice and swished her tail, then ahook her head to fix the red collar around her neck, the silver clip that held it closed gleamed in the sunlight.

((Yeah, she is. But she spared you some of the ramblings. XD See, I told you it was all Patches, all the time. And Horsestar, it's alright with you joining our littlethread. In fact, a little conflict between both sisters might spice up this thread a little bit. And evreyone can use that 'text different color' thingy. It makes it easier to tell where your character is talking. I don't have my fancy codes since I'm on another computer. Psh... My posts aren't perfect all the time. This'll probably be pretty short since I'm kinda running low on muse. Plus, this computer is as slow as molasis in January.)) Patchpaw nodded occationally as Brushfire answered her many, many questions. Actually, she was bit embarassed for letting herself go all overdrive on the poor queen, but she had managed to control herself a little bit. The brown she-cat had been spared much talking... this time. "Leafclan, huh? Sounds pretty cool. To bad about that fire, though..." Patchpaw replied, trying to imagine what life in that clan must have been like. And about how many cats might have died to save their clan from destruction... But their attempts to putthe fire out would have been in vain as the flames lapped up more and more of their territory. "I'm not jumpy, for your information. I'm just trying to mess things up. It would be awful if my mentor hated me because I'm not a perfect little apprentice like..."She trailed off as she spotted the cat she had been talking aboutacross the clearing. Spottedpaw was most likely out of earshot then, so the tortoiseshell said quickly, "Hunting? Great! Why don't we get going. Now."To late. Patchpaw let out a his as her sister approached the two as she had feared and greeted Brushfire, but not herself. 'Hello? Right here!' she wanted to yowl at the older of the two, but kept her jaw shut. She didn't want Brushfire to be disappionted in her. When Spottedpaw mentioned tagging along on their little hunting patrol, she wanted to yowl, 'No! You just want to make my life miserable! Go be mouse brain somewhere else!' But, same as before she kept her mouth shut. But when Spottedpaw spoke of her 'ramblings', the youngest of the three couldn't take it anymore. "Excuse me? I do not ramble. Maybe I talk a bit more then the average apprentice, but we're not all born perfect, ya' know! And are you comparing me to kits? Kits are cute and all, but I do not yowl like them! And if you think you can join our hunting patrol, you're dead wrong! Go ruin someone else's day for a change!"... At least, that's what she should have said. Instead, she stared at her sister and Brushfire with her jaw dropped at a loss for words. When the queen asked how she felt about her sister tagging along, she, unwillingly, said, "Uh... sure..."This was going to be a long day.

Brushfire's tail twitched. As much as she had always been the center of conflict in LeafClan and DawnClan from defending and offending her half-lynx blood, she had seen the sorrowful gleam in Patchpaw's eyes as her sister neared. She only wicshed she had caught it before.
But then she smiled. A keen and brilliant smile that showed nothing but sarcasm. So, this was their relationship, eh? Well, she'd jsut have to make the best of it. After all, she was more fond of the younger of any litter. Well, Patchpaw's side it was, she told herself, and this indeed would be a long day for the both of them.
With Moondiamond on her tracks, it seemed all but neccasary for hunting in this hot day where she had to hiss to obsorb the heat on the ground. She got to her paws, shaking her long and brilliant brown fur, and flashed a smiling, warm look between the two. "Well, let's get going!" her luminescent green eyes shining. "Wouldn't want to miss such a lovely - cool - day in the forest, eh?"

Sottedpaw smiled happily as the two she-cats allowed her to join their hunting patrol. '' Oh thank you so much, you two! Hunting is just no fun by yourself, you know? '' She meowed cheerfully and then followed the senior clan mamber, Brushfire, out of camp with Patchpaw at her side. The two sisters walked next to each other. Spottedpaw was slightly shorter than her younger sister, though she was still leaner. She cast her sister a look with her icy blue eyes, as if saying Don't mess this up like you usually do with your loud paws. Which she would have said out loud if she did not want to appear rude in front of an older cat. All Patchpaw did was run her mouth and disrupt camp all day. On more than one occasion Spottedpaw could swear her sister's obnoxious laugh all the way from camp scared away prey she was less than a tail length away from catching. Patchpaw acted as if she could do whatever she pleased since Mother and Father died since they weren't there to tell her how to behave. Spottedpaw, on the other hand, actually had paid attention and remembered Dappledfrost teaching her two surviving kits manners and how to compose themselves. '' We should probably stay away from Rush River, I saw Horsestar leading a patrol down the river so they could try their paw at catching fish and it would probably be best not to disturb them. '' She meowed to Brushfire as they entered the leafy shade of the forest, making it seem at least five degrees cooler.
