A slender Calico a little ways away from teh fresh kill pile, watching the other cats eat and share tongues. Her green eyes weren't fixed on the food, they were fixed on teh cats. She longed to be a part of the group, but she didn't feel right joining in. She wanted to learn the ropes before doing anything else! Her mind was set on it! She wanted to hunt before she ate, and she wanted to patrol at least once before she lied down to sleep. She was excited to be a part of RushClan, but she knew who they were, and she knew who she was... They were the cats of RushClan, warriors and apprentices, elders and kits. They had been born into the Clan, and the Clan blood ran through their veins. She was Sally, the kittypet. She was born in a Twoleg nest, and had lived off of the canned fish and cream they supplied her with.
Why was a sent here? Do I really belong? Could StarClan have made a mistake? she thought, curling her tail around her legs. She knew that she didn't belong, but she hoped that after today she could be accepted. No one had excluded her, but she hadn't given anyone the chance... She was nervous, it showed.
Sally was waiting there to meet Horsestar, the leader of RushClan. She had just recently joined, and had slept once in the den and ate once from the fresh kill pile before today. She wanted to learn everything she could from the leader, including things about StarClan and prophesies. She had learned how to hunt from her mother, hunting wasn't a problem... getting used to teh Clan life was the most difficult task ahead, and the closer it got, the less difficult it seemed. She waited patiently, looking around at all the new interesting things to see. She waited...

Horsestar padded out of his den, giving his eyes a moment to adjust to the bright light of the sun to the contrast of his dimly lit den. He blinked and looked around camp. Everything seemed peaceful and the Clan seemed healthy. He smiled and sent a quick and silent prayer to StarClan, thanking them for the many moons of peace that RushClan had received. He looked around for Sally, the former kitty-pet who had just joined RushClan. He spotted her perched nervously on the edge of camp, away from the busy center of RushClan.
He trotted across camp and sat down in front of her, wrapping his tail around his delicate black paws. Before introducing himself he examined her with sharp lightening yellow eyes. His gaze rested for merely a humming bird's heart beat on the paw shaped mark on her shoulder then they quickly flashed back to her face. The rumor around camp was that Sally had received a dream from StarClan and had awoken with the mark on her shoulder and had then found RushClan. A few cats had been upset that Horsestar had let her join the Clan, but what choice did he have? Most kitty-pets didn't even know that the wild cats lived in groups called Clans, so how would she know about StarClan if her story wasn't legit? After all, Rushstar had been merely a simple rouge when he received a dream from StarClan telling him to start RushClan. Besides, he had nothing against loners, kitty-pets, and rogues despite some of his Clanmate's ignorant rage toward them.
'' Hello, Sally, '' he meowed in his soft voice, '' I am Horsestar, leader of RushClan. '' He waited for a moment, letting his words sink into the she-cat. Most cats were surprised at first that such a homely looking and soft voiced tom such as Horsestar was the leader of a group of wild cats who fought to live and lived to fight. Especially kitty-pets who were led to believe that wild cats were giant ferocious beasts that ate bones. '' How has Clan life been treating you so far? '' He asked her with a small smile.

Sally turned to see the leawder approach her. She smiled in a frienjdly way, and didn't notice him look at the mark. She didn't think that this cat minded, but she knew that there were a few who were upset that StarClan had visited a kittypet. She was just as surprised as they were, because before joining the Clans, she knew not what had given her the dream or why, only that it meant she would have to venture out into the wild.
She blinked with a bit of surprise as Horsestar introduced himself. She had seen him before, but it was always a little odd hearing soft voice and knowing that it was the same voice which made announcements in the camp and let out a battle cry during a fight. She nodded in response, listening to his following question.
"Clan life is... different..." she answered in a slightly timid-sounding voice... she was normally excited when she spoke, but today she was nervous, "...But, I'll get used to it! I... I wanted to learn to hunt and patrol before I ate or slept again! I thought that it would be more fair to the other cats, the ones who have to hunt every day..."
She paused a moment before smiling again, and adding on, "Thank you so much for letting me join! I promise that I'll do my best to be a warrior!"

Horsestar smiled at the young she-cat's enthusiasm. '' Clanship is not something to be taken lightly or as a game though, Sally. You may not live with one paw in this word and one in your old life. Now that you have decided, you cannot just turn your back on RushClan or your new clanmates when things get difficult... '' He meowed slowly and then was quiet for a moment. The dark furred tom then smiled at her, [yellow]'' I believe you're already starting to get the gist of things here though. ''[/yellow] He then turned to the busy center of camp filled with a range of dark furred cats to white pelts, from aging warriors to youthful apprentices and even to tiny Dawnkit, the clan's youngest member.
'' These cats around us now, even those who are wary of your entrance into the Clan, are each different individuals who you must depend on and trust and who must depend on you and trust you in vice versa. You may find the most loyal friend among these cats, and perhaps the most bitter of rivals... '' He turned to her and smiled, '' Or perhaps a young tom that spikes your fancy..? '' He meowed jokingly then returned his gaze to RushClan, '' Despite any feelings any of these cats have toward you or you have toward them, they are you clanmates first. Whenever you hunt, you are doing it for your clanmates. Whenever you fight, you are fighting for your clanmates. RushClan is your home now, and these cats are your family, your clan mates. StarClan had blessed you with them, and now, since you are choosing to live under StarClan, you must accept RushClan through the good and the bad. Do you understand what I am saying? '' He asked Sally.
'' You are not Clan born. You do not understand what it's like to bare through harsh winter storms, or just barely escaping a flood. You have never had to fight a badger off to defend your Clanmates and you have never spent a night without eating so one younger than you does not have to starve. Clan life will take a lot of adjusting, and you cannot expect to learn how to hunt, fight, and worship StarClan in merely a day. Blood will be shed, moons of training will be required, arguments will happen, cold nights facing hunger are ahead, and many more challenges. If you are not prepared to handle all of these things, I suggest you take your last chance now to walk out of my Clan. ''
( Omg sorry for all the talking @-@ )

Sally listed carefully as Horsestar spoke to her. She thought about how he said that she could never turn back, and remembered her brother, Jack. She could still visit him, right? She wouldn't eat anything there or stay any nights, but she didn't know if she could let herself break her promise to her brother. He would be waiting for her, he probably already was waiting, and she knew that their other brother would never be able to visit again.
'' These cats around us now, even those who are wary of your entrance into the Clan, are each different individuals who you must depend on and trust and who must depend on you and trust you in vice versa. You may find the most loyal friend among these cats, and perhaps the most bitter of rivals... Or perhaps a young tom that spikes your fancy..? ''
The Calico nodded as she listened. Trust... that must have been one of the biggest parts of Clan life. She knew that trusting a complete stranger would be a little hard to get used to, for both her and the other cats, but she knew that if she could do it, then surely the stronger cats already in the Clan could, too. She giggled when Horsestar mentioned a young tom who might have spiked her interest, but shook her head quickly, blushing slightly under her light fur and smiling in a silly way.
'' Despite any feelings any of these cats have toward you or you have toward them, they are you clanmates first. ''
"...I understand," she said, returning to a more respectful tone and nodding again. As Horsestar continued to explain about the Clan life, she pondered every word he said and asked herself if she could live the Clan-Life. Whatever brought her there was StarClan, but before she had ran way into the forest, she had never heard of them before... so could it be possible that they had made a mistake? What if she misinterpreted? She had to be sure that she was willing to stay with them until she died.
"...I think I'm sure I want to stay!" she meowed in a determined tone after the Clan leader finished explaining, "I just have one question... Can I still visit my brother...? If it's only for one day, I wont stay with him or eat there... but I promised him that I would visit him and I can't break that promise...!"

(You guys mind if I join?)
The sun beat down mercilessly, tormenting the poor long furred cat lying outside. Dapplepaw was hot enough after the intense training his mentor Twilightclaw put him through, and the ruthless sun was no help. Does Starclan have no mercy!? Rolling onto his back and panting, Dapplepaw looked at the world upside down. Seeing Horsestar, the yellow tom's eyes focused and noticed the new she-cat next to him. Jumping up, Dapplepaw smoothly walked over to the calico and turned on the charm. "Why hello beautiful! Are you a new recruit?"

(Mind if I join too??) Horizenfall limped over he had just dropped his prey at the fresh kill pile and saw the new comer she looked friendly enough he didn't exactly have many friends in the clan, just Darkfall. He saw Horsestar and dipped his golden stripy head. "Hi," he mewed. He raised his bad paw and began to lick it sighing as his rythematic licks relieved some of the tension in it from chasing that squirrel and the pain in it lessened.

Horsestar was quiet for a moment. How could Sally become a warrior if she still clung to her kitty-pet brother? That was why Willow had been so unsure of joining RushClan, because she did not want to give up her family back at the barn... The she-cat did seem like she was devoted to Clan life though, and StarClan had even given her a message....
Horsestar flicked his tail tip and then spoke in his soft voice, '' I understand the importance of family, Sally, so I will let you go visit your brother once as to keep your promise. After that though you must give up your former kitty-pet life and whatever and whoever keeps you tied to it. That is the life of a warrior and as a I said before you cannot live with a paw in two worlds. You are either here in RushClan or you are back at home with your two-legs. ''
As the small tom finished speaking Horizonfall limped over. Horsestar nodded back to the warrior respectfully in greeting, '' Hello, Horizonfall, '' He meowed and then looked worriedly at his paw and he began licking it almost as if in pain. '' If your paw is troubling you then you may want to pay the medicine den a visit... '' Horsestar then nodded to the young she-cat next to him, '' Also, this is Sally. She has just joined the Clan. Sally, this is Horizonfall. ''

Sally nodded as Horsestar explained that she could visit her brother once. She was very relieved that she could keep her promise, and this way he could know that she was safe. He could worry for days to the point where it made him sick, and she didn't want that for him. The Clan-life would be made up of a lot of devotion and hard-work, and it was a little scary to think about fighting every day just to live, but she was determined to become a true Clan-cat and to work hard for her new Clan. This was her new family, her new brothers and sister, her new nieces and nephews, they were all one big family. If one died, all mourned, and if one was born, all celebrated.
"I understand...!" she meowed, "After I say goodbye to Jacky, RushClan is my new family, and I must keep my promise of loyalty to them as well!"
Dapplepaw surprised her when he spoke.
"Why hello beautiful! Are you a new recruit?"
She didn't know how to react to that... She simply nodded.
Another warrior limped over, and according to Horsestar, this one was named Horizonfall. Normally, if a cat was hurt back at her home, the Twolegs took him or her to the "vet", so she figured that the Medicine Cat was like their version of a "vet".
"It's very nice to meet both of you," she said, trying to speak in a respectful tone as she bowed her head. These cats were the ones who risked their life every day to protect those who could not protect themselves, like the kits or elders, "It's an honor, really! I hope we can become good friends!"
((The more, the merrier! Of course I don't mind! ^^))

(Well, then in that case I'm kicking myself in :U) A beautiful dark lynx-cat hybrid she-cat skipped over. "New Clanmate, huh?" it was adressed to Horsestar though her luminous green eyes were locked interestingly at Sally. "Sounds exciting. I could use some excitement." Surely enough, even this enormous she-cat had a bright red collar. She had never been a kittypet, however. It had been her mother's, the pure cross between lynx and cat, Moondiamond.
She had the greenest of green eyes anycat had ever seen, almost like someone had put a green glowstick and formed it into two rather small circles and stuck them in a cat's eyes. Yet she was calm, reselute, peaceful. Her scent was that of Rush-River mixed with smoke and the outdoors in Autum, still with a sarcastic gleam in her eyes. She loomed over the other cats with much height, but still barely had to bend over to talk to the cats directly.
"So, Sally, huh? That's your name?" And another thing. Her voice. It was young yet deep, soft yet stirn. She was a fun cat to be around, who was also comferting. Just one of those cats. "'Mind introducing me, Horsestar? Or should I do it myself?" she frowned sarcasticly before he could answer. "That wouldn't be nice if you didn't."
Once again before Horsestar could answer, she turned to Sally and gave a smile, it was a smile that preceeded only of class and sarcasm, or wickedness, it depended on how one saw it. "My dear little kittypet, I am known as Brushfire. I am a senior warrior from LeafClaaannnnnahh..." The Clan name slid off her tongue as if she hated the very thought of it.
"But," she began, her smile had faded and she cast a glance to the left as her chest fur puffed out, her voice had grown somewhat higher pitched on account of slightly growning colder as she hissed slowely; "That place burnt to the ground. My brother Twlightclaw is wth me. I have kits too, but this isn't about them..."
Her smile returned as her extremely green gaze returned to Sally, "It's about you, dear."

Horizenfall smiled at Sally, "I hope we can become friends too," he mewed. Then he turned to Horsestar, "No it's fine I just irritated it chasing a squirrel" he said flexing it. Horizenfall saw Bushfire pad up and listened to the she-cat speak.

Cat's began to swarm the new she-cat, Sally, bubbling with interest. Dapplepaw looked at all the respected warriors around, getting dizzy from excessive nodding. "It's really nice to meet both of you. It's an honor, really! I hope we can become good friends!" Glad to give a good first impression of Rushclan to Sally, Dapplepaw proudly puffed out his chest. "Dapplpaw, we have border patrol duty!" The apprentice turned to chase after his mentor, making sure to shout "Nice to meet you, Sally!" With that, Dapplepaw whisked out of camp.

Horizenfall looked at his paw irritated by it, he bit it tearing fur off and piercing his skin he bit it again then spat out fur and blood horrified at himself. "I'm sooo sorry I don't know what got into me" he mewed looking at Horsestar and Sally eyes wide as moons. "I'm sorry you had too see that," he mewed then looked at Sally, "I'm not always like this" he mewed quickly. Then began to lick it swiftly.
