Darkfall dipped her head eyes clouding with sadness and Smoke stiffened and wrapped his tail round Flowerfur who had gone ridgid. Darkfall looked at Dawnkit, "She was out hunting, I was on her patrol jsut a little bit away when a badgr attacked her it killed her after quite a fight, I ran to her after hearing her yowl but I wasn't quick enough she was dead, so I drove the badger off and returned to her, I found that her fur was torn from her face an an eye was missing. Her lips were drawn back in a snarl and her eyes clouded but still filled with defience and terror. Her hind legs were both broken and her eplt torn up I took her back to camp telling myself she was still alive but I had smelt the scent of death on her I knew it wasn't true, Horizenfall, then still my apprentice found me at the entrance to camp and he took her from me andlayed her out for the buriel even though I insisted it wasn't nescessery I could do it. He went and got Smoke and Flowerfur for me and told the clan while I grieved." She raised her paw and felt her right ear with the deep v-shaped nick, "The badgr did that," she mewed. Her eyes were still dark with sadness but her head was held high now, "I did all I could and I know that she died fighting and I have courage in knowing that like my sister I will not give up fighting till the end I just hope I can be as brave as she was when my time comes," she mewed a small smile crossing her face.

Dawnkit felt a bit bad because she caused Darkfall to think back on very sad memories. Grayfoot sounded like a very brave she-cat, and she was a bit sad that she couldn't know Darkfall's sister more.
With the way Darkfall described her sister's injuries, Dawnkit felt terrified and never wanted to meet a badger alone or even on a patrol for that matter, they sounded like horrible animals. Dawnkit could only imagine Darkfall fighting off the badger to avenge her sister. Darkfall really had a sad life, but she persevered and became a very wise and nice cat.
"I'm really sorry for your loss, and I hope you won't feel anything like that again, even though in the place we live it's hard to avoid tragedies," Dawnkit thought back to how she found her mother laying in a pool of her own blood, attacked my a group of rogues. She shuddered away the thought and went back to listening to Darkfall.
Dawnkit found the dark warrior's scar quite cool, and gave her a fighters look, even tho the situation in witch she got it was quite sad.
After Darkfall finished talking, Dawnkit knew that this was a very touchy subject for this family. "I already think that your quite brave and from what I hear your sister would probably be proud of you." Dawnkit smiled wholeheartedly at Darkfall and her parents, trying to lighten the mood.

"Loss is a part of life it is what makes us stronger and shows who we really are, if you break down and give up you are not honouring that cats memory but if you take strength and courage from their death it will have meaning," Smoke said the wise toms eyes shining. Darkfall smiled, "Yes I believe she would be," she mewed happily. Flowerfur looked at Dawnkit with her shining green eyes, "You are a very wise young kit your life must have been hard come tell us your story," the white queen mewed smiling. Darkfall nodded lying down on the mossy cave floor next to Smoke who had lain down curled close to Flowerfur. Darkfall leant on her father looking at Dawnkit and she signaled with hertail she could join the group hug if she wanted.

Dawnkit acknowledged Darkfall's words, and she knew what she meant because she had also had a death in her young life and it had made her stronger, doing things she wouldn't have done before because she knew that if she did them it would make her mother proud.
Dawnkit sat in front of the little family and tucked her paws under herself. "Well me and my mother lived together not very far from here, but outside of RushClan territory, at that time the only cats I knew of were my mom and a few of the loners that lived near by. My mom said that my father was a nice tom but he didn't want kits and he left her and never came back, she said it made her sad but when I was born she became happy again. We had to change dens at some point because a group of rogues wanted our small territory," Dawnkit sighed and her eyes teared up a bit as she continued to speak, "One morning she went out to hunt near the little stream that branched off of rush river. By sunhigh she hadn't come back so I left the den to find her, and I scented her, but it wasn't the same. I speed up and there I saw her and I couldn't believe what I saw." Dawnkit was holding back most of her sadness to be able to finish her story. "She lay beside the stream and blood was everywhere, and I came towards her and couldn't accept it event tho I knew she had been dead awhile. I ran and ran till I had to stop because the emotion was getting to me and I felt to confused and shocked to move. I heard noises and smelled a cat so the first though I had was that the murderer came back to get me, but it was actually a RushClan warrior out hunting, and he brought me back to camp, since then I've been here and I've learned a lot. I miss my mother a lot because I only knew her for a short while."
Dawnkit was sad and happy at the same time: sad because she wouldn't see her mother until she herself died and happy because now she wasn't alone anymore and she could make friends that she could depend on and be happy with.

Darkfall listened to the young kits words with sad eyes she couldn't imagine Flowerfur lying dead or Smoke leaving Flowerfur but she knew the feeling of loosing a cat dear to her heart. When Spottedsnow, Breezeflower and Grayfoot had died each time it had felt like they had taken part of her with them leaving her feeling empty. "I can't imagine loosing Flowerfur you've had quite a sad life," Darkfall murmured, she blinked and looked around, "But at least sharing with friends eases the grief." What she said was true, at least for her it was. She closed her eyes and smiled she was glad she had Dawnkit for a friend and if anyone hurt her she would tear out their heart to show them how being tormented felt. She felt a deep protectiveness towards Dawnkitand hoped she could be her mentor maybe she would ask Horsestar?

Dawnkit felt like if a burden had been removed from her chest, this was the first time she spoke of her past to any cat, she hadn't even told the Clan leader, Horsestar, who accepted her into RushClan.
Dawnkit was happy to have Darkfall for a friend, even if they had only started knowing each other for a short time now. "Talking with you did make me feel better about it," she looked at the three cats sitting together in front of her and smiled.
Dawnkit already had a nice bond with the three cats before her and would like to talk to them a lot more and get to know them better.
She would also love to have Darkfall as a mentor, but if not she would still love to learn things from her anyways.
Dawnkit smiled and stood up to stretch again, she was a bit tired and blinked her eyes to get rid of some of her tiredness. "I'm getting tired, maybe I could take a little nap?" she yawned after speaking.
Dawnkit lay down before she could get an answer. She thought that being a kit was bothersome become she had to sleep a lot. With that last thought she drifted into a light sleep and curled herself closer to Darkfall and made herself comfortable.

Darkfall smiled and nodded. She wondered if she had kits would they be as brave as Dawnkit, she hoped they would. She purred as Dawnkit curled closer to her and began to drift off to sleep herself under the steady rasp of Smokes tongue. As she fell asleep she saw the moon flower and Grayfoot standing beside her face alight with joy and longing. Darkfall woke with a start it was dark and her father and mother were asleep. She was sure she was awake but she heard her sisters voice whispering to her. "Darkfall my dear sister, my own sister, we must speak." Darkfall smiled then looked at Dawnkit she shook her gently and whispered, "Dawnkit wake up we must get back it appears I overslept!" Her dark fur was disheveled form sleep and her eyes wide with fright she was quite bedraggled and she looked tireder then when she had gone to sleep

Dawnkit heard Darkfall purr as she fell asleep. She dreamed that she was an apprentice and that she was out hunting with other apprentices. In her dream, Dawnkit had caught a sparrow and she happily brought it back to camp.
Hours later, Darkfall nudged her to try and wake her, and told Dawnkit that they had overslept. Dawnkit opened her eyes and looked around but had to wait for them to adjust to the darkness. Dawnkit noticed that Darkfall looked frightened and very tired. "Are you alright?" Dawnkit was worried for her new friend.
"Do you think the Clan is worried for us? We have been gone a long time..." Dawnkit stood up and stretched, waiting for Darkfall to lead the way.

"I-i'm fine," Darkfall stammered, "Just I had a dream I need to get back to camp, to hard to explain," She said hurridly stumbling over her words. Her licked her pelt to smooth it then shook her tail to puff it up. She smiled at Dawnkti and licked the kits fur smooth pondering her question, finally she answered, "I think they'll be worried but they'll know you're with me and I often stay out of camp over night." She smiled, "There both clean again," she mewed before setting off her pace quite quick this time. She was muttering as she walked, "Why now Grayfoot, why wait so long why not when I needed you desperately? Why should I go to you know you never visited me and your in StarClan." She was so busy pondering her sisters sudden appearence that she didn't notice a big stripey golden tom approaching scanning the forest on either side of him. He walked awkwardly with an odd gait, his left paw slightly twisted out from his body it was raw and red the fur missing, it was a new wound. Darkfall kept walking and so did the tom and they crashed into each other. Darkfall let out a huff of air as she fell. She looked up and her eyes lit up the emotion in them turning from frustration to joy. "Rizey!" She said cheerfully. "Dars!" he cheered in reply and the two shared an embrace before Darkfall stepped back. "Dawnkit this is my good friend Horizenfall, Horizenfall this is my other good friend Dawnkit," she mewed. Horizenfall dipped his head to Dawnkit in greeting then mewed, "Sup any friend of Dars' is a friend of mine." Darkfall stood again, "We need to get back to camp I need to speak with Silverblaze," she mewed, "Dawnkit were gonna go quite fast do you want me too carry you?" Horizenfall looked crestfallen, "You never ofer to carry me," he said laughing good-heartedly. Darkfall rolled her eyes at him, "Toms," she mewed.

Even tho Darkfall said she was fine, Dawnkit knew she wasn't really. She trusted that she would explain it later. Darkfall licked herself smooth and then licked Dawnkit too. The dark warriors response eased her nerves quite a lot, making her relax, know that the Clan would be more worried than angry.
Darkfall suddenly got up and left a a quicker pace then before, but Dawnkit was able to keep up with only some difficulty in the different obstacles littered around the forest floor.
Dawnkit was following Darkfall as closely as possible, as not to get lost in the forest, alone, at night. She shuddered at that thought. Out of nowhere, the warrior stumbled onto another cat, and luckily the little kit stopped herself before she hit in to them too. Darkfall obviously knew this cat, and Dawnkit thought that she recognized him from when she would observe the camp.
Darkfall introduced her to the tom with the hurt leg, his name was Horizonfall. Dawnkit smiled at the tom, who is Darkfall's good friend that she had wanted to meet. She thought that it was a very nice coincidence that they meet him on their way back to camp. "It's nice to meet you, Darkfall said you used to be her apprentice and that your good friends." Dawnkit thought that since being with Darkfall she suppressed her shy nature and opened up a little more.
Dawnkit was happy that the dark she-cat offered to carry her, all the speed, even tho not that much, had made her tired and she felt unstable on her legs. She already liked Horizonfall, he looked like a fun cat to be with. "I would be," she stifled a yawn, "happy to be carried back." Darkfall picked her up by the scruff.

Darkfall grabbed Dawnkit gently by the scruff and smiled, "Meel mee to sreep on na may mome," she mumbled around Dawnkit's fur. Horizenfall laughed at Darkfall then she cuffed him over the head. She padded onwards her paws landing with a soft thud as they landed beside her the awkward unsteady sounds of Horizenfall's steps. She quickened her pace and felt the bigger tom fall behind. She had to get back to camp. She saw the entrance up ahead and she ran in feeling Dawnkit roughly moving, "Sorry" she mumbled then she slowed as they reached camp and she gently put Dawnkit down and Horizenfall ran in panting. "Dawnkit," Darkfall said gently, "Do you want to share my nest for tonight so we don't wake up the cats in the nursery?" She smiled looking at Dawnkit her eyes gentle and warm, filled with more emotion then they had had in them in moons.

Horizonfall seemed to think that Darkfall's muffled speech was very funny.
Dawnkit already knew after a few minutes of being carried that she never wanted to be carried again, or at least by her scruff, because it was making her scruff sore and her body even more tired than it was.
They reached the camp, and as they entered, Dawnkit was very happy to be put down on solid ground. Seeing that all the cats in camp where asleep by now, Darkfall offered that they both sleep in her nest. She looked at Dawnkit with warmth, making Dawnkit feel happy. "I would but..." Dawnkit was worried that she would be punished if she slept in the warriors den before she was a warrior. "Umm, I don't want to get in trouble, so maybe we could just sleep in the clearing, like make a temporary nest, so that neither of us gets in trouble, and that way we won't wake anyone up." Dawnkit really didn't want to bother anyone, so she tried her best to come up with a solution.
She wondered what Horizonfall was doing out so late, but though that he might say it later, for the moment it wasn't really important and she was getting tired again, and she guessed the others both were to, so she wouldn't make things go faster with an unnecessary question.

"Good idea Dawnkit!" Darkfall mewed then she lay on the ground turned onto her back and wriggled. She sat back up again smiling, "Comfortable enough," she mewed, "Now lets make a huddle." She spun round three times them settled on the ground, wriggled around then sighed and smiled. "Comfy," she purred. She smiled and Dawnkit settled at her stomach and she wrapped herself around the kit to keep her smaller friend warm, then Horizenfall wrapped himself around her. Darkfall wriggled a little more, forcing the others to get comfortable again, she then closed her green eyes and fell into sleep. Yet again she saw Grayfoot by the Moon Flower and this time she stepped forward towards her without fear. "My dear sister," Grayfoot mewed her amber eyes glowing with stars, "I will speak with you very soon and say all that I have wanted to say for many moons," she mewed. "Then why haven't you?" Darkfall asked her green eyes alight with hurt. "Because I had to wait for your hurt to heal," Grayfoot answered, "Now rest my dear Darkfall," and with that she pressed her nose to Darkfall's forehead and the dark gray she-cat fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.

Dawnkit was happy that they would use her idea, and that they wouldn't bother anybody for the night.
Darkfall placed herself on the ground, making herself comfortable. Dawnkit then laid down beside her, snuggling close to her. Horizonfall also joined their little huddle. Darkfall moved a bit, make everyone get comfortable again.
Just as they we're all about to fall asleep, Dawnkit whispered a good night. All three cats we're sound asleep only few minutes after laying down, each having a different dream.
Dawnkit woke on a nice sunny day somewhere in a forest. She felt warm and at ease. She walked around and didn't quite know what to do, so she just continued to walk at a non-rushed pace, looking at the leaves moving in the breeze, stopping to watch ants move about in the undergrowth.
Dawnkit sat up, having heard a voice coming from behind her. She went towards the voice and it became a little louder, and somewhat clearer. Before Dawnkit could get there, she was stopped by her mother, "My daughter, I'm very happy to see you, but that is not why I have summoned you here. I always wanted you to meet your father, he is near the border of your new territory, go and find him and tell him my name, he will know who you are." and with that her mother faded before the young kit could even talk back. The dream faded and Dawnkit fell back into a deep sleep.

Horizenfall dreamed he was in a lush forest filled with birds and other animals. He continued walking through the forest ignoring the prey scent. Where was she? He whimpered Breezeflower had said she'd always be with him so why couldn't he find her. "Liar!" he screamed, "You said you'd always be there for me but where are you now? Huh? Where were you when I needed you? Where were you! What kind of mother abandons her own son? Huh? You just always loved Strikefoot more didn't you? More then your own son! You liar!" He screamed to the sky. "Liar!" he roared. Then he woke with a start raising his head. "You said you'd always be with me," he whispered before getting to his paws careful not to wake Darkfall or Dawnkit and he sat his head low eyes shut tight. "Liar," he whispered, "Liar"
Darkfall let the relief of sleep wash over her and she slept and slept. She felt the warmth leave her and she woke startled. She felt refreshed and awake. She noticed Horizenfall sitting his head low and she closed her eyes again to pretend she hadn't seen as he padded to the fresh kill pile. She opened her eyes and began to lick her pelt gently cleaning it. She felt like wriggling but didn't want to wake Dawnkit. So instead she yawned and slowly rolled away hoping to wake her friend gently. "Hey sleepy-head" she murmured to the newly woken Dawnkit. "I need to go to the medicine den so i'll be there if you need me, and jsut ask if you want to go out of camp again i'm pretty sure leaving by yourself will get you in trouble, I remember it did for me." She then wriggled on the ground, stood, stretched, then padded to fresh kill pile grabbed three mice and padded into the medicine den.
Horizenfall looked at Dawnkit, "Hey," he mewed, "Want to share this rabbit me and Darkfall caught it yesterday so it might not be that great but it's better then nothing," he mewed hoping to get to know Darkfall's friend better, even become her friend as well, he was in desperate need of friends and Dawnkit seemed nice.
