Echosong stepped out into the clearing. She stretched lazily. Sporting her newly healed scars, she walked out into the sunlight. A great day for a quest. Looking around, she couldn't spot her mate, Maliceheart. Her tail tip twitched. Maybe he isn't back yet. Or maybe he's just asleep.

Maliceheart opened his eyes and jumped up quickly. He had slept in! He ran outside quickly, almost running into three other warriors on his way out. The weather was nice, the sun was out, it was the perfect day for a quest. He raced through the camp out into the woods, running as fast as his paws could carry him.
Hurry up, Malice, you're late! he scolded himself for not waking up earlier. When he reached the clearing, he saw Echosong waiting for him and quickly ran over to her. His ears flattened against his head as he bowed his head in apology.
"I'm so sorry that I'm late, dear," he meowed, looking back up with amber eyes. He could see her new scars, and licked the one on her forehead. He hated being reminded of the fight, of the time he almost lost her after just finding her.

Echosong smiled and stood up as Maliceheart raced into the clearing. He licked the scar over her eye and the throbbing ceaced slightly. As soon as he stopped, though, the throbbing returned, increasing in violence and pain. She layed her ears back against her head. "No, it's okay, love. I was just doing a bit of hunting." She glanced over at the large rabbit she'd caught for them. She hoped it'd be enough.

Maliceheart looked down at the rabbit when Echosong mentioned hunting. He leaned down and took a few quick bites before sitting back up, leaving the rest for her. He didn't want her to get hungry, he was able to go a little while without hunting.
"So, where do we start?" he asked, looking around at the surrounding forest, "I'm not sure where to start, did your parents mention where your sister might be?"
The black tom wondered why his mother never visited him, or more so of why StarClan never let her. He wanted to so badly to be able to talk to her, to tell her how sorry he was about being the cause of her death, but he never got the chance. A kittypet had been visited by StarClan more times than he had... somedays he felt like they really must hate him.

Echosong ate the rest of the rabbit, not wanting to waste prey but at the same time shy about eating a lot. She sat up and licked her lips. "They said, 'She lives many sunrises from here.' And she flicked her tail toward the Twoleg Barn. I think she lives past that." she sighed. "Maybe we shouldn't go. I don't even know what she looks like." She mewed, hoping her eyes wouldn't give away how much she wanted to find her living relative.

Maliceheart chuckled when he saw that Echosong was shy about eating a lot. He'd remembered how his sister would eat a little around this other kittypet she knew, and then go inside before eating a regular portion. It must have been a she-cat thing.
"I think we should still try to find her," he meowed after his mate spoke about maybe not going, "My sister lives in the same direction, we can ask her for help if we need it, and maybe she's seen your sister! Besides, even if we dont find anyone, we can just say that we went to visit her and that it was not a journey wasted."
Maliceheart's sister was a black she-cat with large yellow eyes, and she always had a large red ribbon rapped around her neck. She was a frail thing, but was always willing to help passerbies and the Clan cats. Surely she could help in some way.

"Okay." She mewed, smiling. She stood up and began to walk in the direction of the barn, being careful to walk so her mate could keep up. She had a bad habit of half-running everywhere.

Maliceheart felt better when he saw Echosong smile. He loved making her smile! She began to walk toward the barn, and he could tell that she was making sure he was able to keep up. This made him chuckle, as he walked barely ahead of her on purpose, watching her out of the corner of his eye and smirking. This was the first time in a while he had ever joked around.
He looked ahead, looking up at the sky, wondering if the weather would stay this nice all day. He felt confident that this day would go just fine, which was abnormal compared to how he always looked at the bad side of things, like the glass was always half-empty.

[pink]Tarissa purred as she awoke from her slumber, a dreamy smile on her face. She stretched lazily, looking around her house to see her Twoleg, Silvia, getting her breakfast ready. She didn't think that today was anything special, until she saw that she-cat with the odd stars in her pelt standing outside the window under the tree her and her brothers had planted as kits, when the two were visiting her.
She was white, with silver-gray eyes, and she knew that she had adopted her brother a while back. The specter had been visiting her whenever Malice was about to visit, or she would warn her before Iriayu came looking for trouble. The figure nodded before vanishing, showing her that her assumption was correct. She needed to get ready for her brother's visit...[/pink]

Echosong looked up through the branches, enjoying the sunlight, as the abnormally long tuft of fur on her head fell down to cover her eye. She shook her head to get it back behind her eaar where it belonged and stumbled, making herself dizzy. Her vision swam and her head throbbed harder as she tried hard not to groan softly-to no avail.

Maliceheart watched as Echosong stumbled slightly in a dizzy fashion, and paused, letting her lean against him. He licked her forehead and everywhere else he was a scar he could reach, trying to sooth the pain.
"Are you sure we should continue?" he asked, wanting to make sure that she was able to continue before trying to go any further. He didn't want her to get sick half-way through the trip while they were away from the Medicine Cat, and he didn't want any of her newer scars to get infected.
"Are you sure you're okay? Maybe you should stay here, I can find your sister for you... I'll do whatever you want me to do, Echosong..." he meowed, trying to comfort his mate. They had just reached the barn, there was still time to turn back, "Once we get a little farther, there's no turning back... Are you sure you want to do this...?"

Echosong nodded, still dizzy. She HAD to find her sister. Opening her eyes, she whispered, "Just a headache." She began to walk again, coming closer to the barn. She'd never seen it this close before, she was amazed. Her mouth hung open slightly at the sheer size of the building. She slipped under a fence and rounded the corner of the barn. A shrill cry rang out and a huge horse galloped toward her, his hooves shaking the ground. With a cry, she sprinted back around the corner and under the fence, hoping Maliceheart hadn't followed her. The horse had done one good thing for her, though. Her head no longer pounded with every heartbeat. She was thankful for that. She gasped for air, scared out of her mind, as her heart pounded faster than ever. She looked up at the big black stallion, who had smartly stopped at the fence. He snorted at her, raised his tail indignantly, and trotted away.

Maliceheart looked worried even after Echosong reassured him that she only had a headache. He, himself, had not yet been injured beyond being able to walk in a straight line, so he had no idea what it was like.
"If you want to stop, we'll stop and rest..." he meowed, wanting her to know that if her condition worsened, they would stop to rest and she could regain her strength, he followed her inside the fence, and was shocked by horrible cry followed by thundering hooves. He saw the she-cat dart under the fence and escape, and he was only a mouse-length behind her.
Panting, he looked up to see the horse had stopped in front of the fence. He hissed at it as it trotted away, his tail flicking from side-to-side in annoyance. He hated horses. The black tom's amber eyes glinted with hatred, and again the more hostile side of him was visible to everyone around him. After a few minutes, however, he looked back at Echosong and his gentler side returned,
"Are you alright?!" he asked franticly, looking her over to make sure that she wasn't hurt. It was a little hard for him to believe that he was actually being protective of someone, but that didn't matter now... the only thing that mattered was Echosong.

Echosong panted and looked over at Maliceheart. She nodded. "Yeah. Horses are usually so nice.... I oughta claw his ears!" She hissed, pinning her own ears to her head. She blinked as the tuft of fur on her head fell down over her eye again. She glared in at the horse, who grazed a few foxlengths away. She hated being so nasty and mean in front of Maliceheart, but she couldn't help it. She was trying to find her SISTER for StarClan's sake! What if Maliceheart doesn't like a she-cat who gets mean sometimes? The thought made her body go numb. I don't want to lose him.... she thought.

Maliceheart snickered as Echosong hissed at the horse. He was glad to see that she was alright, and seeing get mad for the first time was actually kind of funny. She was a strong she-cat, and he regretted ever doubting that she couldn't make it alone. She seemed tough enough to handle almost anything at this point...
"Remind me not get on your bad side," he joked, "I might get my tail kicked! ...I like it, though, that you aren't helpless and that you can stand up for yourself...!"
The black tom purred as he continued to walk alongside his mate. She was... perfect... He knew that she felt self-conscious, it was obvious, but he could help her get over that. She was pretty, nice, and strong, there was nothing else that could make her any better.

Echosong padded alongside her matee happily. She was glade Malicehart seemed to be confident in her abilities. Shed never doubted her ablitiy to care for herself, the reason she was so uncomfortable with being around the other she cats was she knew alll of them, including her friend, Brushfire, were so much pprettier than her, and that usually made things awkward. she`d always had a self-confidence problem and she hoped Maliceheart could help heal her of her unseeable scars. "Malice?" she asked. "How much does our relationship mean to you?"
